Meet Princess Ellie: Our Original Survivor Heroine
·6 min read
Princess Ellie is one of our most requested characters, and she's entirely our own: a survivor heroine in a world that fell apart and kept going anyway. This is the story of how we designed a character defined by resilience rather than royalty.
Grit with warmth
Post-apocalyptic design can easily drift into monotone gloom. We deliberately built Ellie around contrast: weathered fabrics and dusty environments, balanced by warm skin tones, expressive eyes, and small personal details — a patched backpack, a collected trinket, a worn bracelet. She has survived, but she has not gone cold.
Environments that tell her story
Her scenes use overgrown streets, sunlit ruins, and reclaimed interiors — places where nature is quietly winning. Each backdrop is composed to suggest what happened without ever explaining it. Viewers piece the world together themselves, which makes the story feel personal.
Consistency across a series
Because Ellie appears across an episodic series, consistency was the hardest technical challenge. Her face, proportions, and wardrobe details are locked through a rigorous reference pipeline so that episode five feels like the same person as episode one — just a little further down the road.
